Alexandra Harper, MBA - Owner
Along with owning and operating Intrepid Marketing & Event Planning, Alexandra works for Park Equine Hospital as their Practice Manager. Prior to that she worked for the American Saddlebred Horse Association as the Special Programs Manager. Alexandra was responsible for sponsorships, special promotions, the growth of youth organizations and events, enhancements to Charter Clubs and identifying and developing new opportunities for members and the Saddlebred, along with special events. During her time at the American Saddlebred Horse Association Alexandra produced the 2019 ASHA Youth Conference which brough record breaking attendance from all over the United States.
Alexandra has a wealth of experience in the equine community at large. Prior to working for the American Saddlebred Horse Association, she had over six years of experience working for the University of Kentucky Ag Equine Programs as the Operations and Communications Coordinator. She was responsible for all financial management, human resources, operations, and event coordination and logistics.
During her time at the UK Ag Equine Programs, Alexandra managed the department budget, and orchestrated event planning for program events. In addition, she worked extensively with education initiatives in the Thoroughbred, sport horse and other equine industries. Alexandra was an integral part of Saddle Up Safely, an advisory committee comprised of UK Equine specialist’s and medical doctors from UK Hospital. She spearheaded the development and management of the Saddle Up Safely app which includes an injury and concussion assessment. Alexandra was also a part-time instructor for the equine event planning course, editor/designer of the Wildcat Canter, a monthly newsletter and has several published articles on equine topics for audiences consisting of researchers, faculty, students, and the general public. While an intern at UK, Alexandra assisted with planning the 2010 International Symposium on Equine Reproduction
In 2019 Alexandra produced an impressive Saddlebred video that promoted the equine program’s undergraduate program, Saddlebred research at the Gluck Equine Research Center, and the UK Saddle Seat Team. In addition, she was part of the team that coordinated the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2010 World Equestrian Games.
Alexandra is a native of Charleston, West Virginia, but moved to the bluegrass in 2006 to attend the University of Kentucky, where she received a Corporate Communication degree and a music performance minor. She then went on to obtain her Master’s in Business Administration from Midway University.
