Alexandra Harper, MBA - Owner
Along with owning Intrepid Marketing & Event Planning, Alexandra Harper is the Practice Manager for Park Equine Hospital, where she is responsible for providing business management services, overseeing operations, staff management, marketing, and client relations. Prior to Park Equine Hospital, Alexandra was the Special Programs Manager for the American Saddlebred Horse Association. She was responsible for special promotions, sponsorships, the growth of youth organizations and events, enhancements to Charter Clubs and identifying and developing new opportunities for members and the Saddlebred, along with special events. Before joining the ASHA, she was a great resource as a volunteer member of the 2019 ASHA Youth Conference planning committee.
In addition to the Saddlebred industry, Alexandra has a wealth of experience in the equine community at large. As the former Operations and Communications Coordinator at the University of Kentucky, she was heavily involved in the higher education opportunities in the equine industry. Alexandra worked extensively with education initiatives in the Thoroughbred, Sport Horse and other equine industries. She played a vital role in projects such as the 2010 International Symposium on Equine Reproduction with the UK Gluck Equine Research Center and has several published articles on various equine topics for audiences consisting of researchers, faculty, students and the general public. Matching her love for horses with her talent for events, she was also a part of the team at Global Creative Connections that planned and produced the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Lexington, KY.
Alexandra is a native of Charleston, WV, but moved to the bluegrass in 2006 to attend the University of Kentucky, where she received a Corporate Communication degree and a music performance minor. She then went on to obtain her Master’s in Business Administration from Midway University. In her spare time, she enjoys kayaking, traveling, singing, spending time with family and friends, and riding her horses. Alexandra and her dog, Lilly, are also a certified therapy team and are a part of the University of Kentucky Hospital’s Canine Counselors.
